Opportunity Knocks, Whispers, and Winks
“Hi. My name is Pete. I’m a computer nut, but I love to work in my shop on weekends. I’m a pretty fair carpenter and take on odd jobs for other people when I have time. And I love kids. I’d like to give a week to camp, but I’m busy and about worn out. But I do love Jesus and want to serve. What can I do?”
Great question. Got a great answer. Consider your time as an investment, not as a wrestling match. Are you spending it wisely? Consider taking a regular “Vacation Friday” and go to either Utmost or Elohim to work. If it’s warm enough to wrap a hand around a hammer, someone is already there hard at work. They need your help. Carpenters are needed all the time so tote that hammer; swing that power saw! Why wait until summer to have all that fun?
Would you prefer to take off an entire week during the summer? Then consider the following positions: cook, groundskeeper, maintenance man, construction, Bible teacher, craft teacher and helper, counselor, junior counselor activity leader, specialty teacher such as archery or riflery. Nurses or EMTs and lifeguards (for both camps) and bus drivers (for Utmost) are especially needed. Check the ministry dates (Elohim/Utmost) for both camps.
What do you say? How about “Yes!”
