RENDEZVOUS

SOWERs -- Servants On Wheels Ever Ready

by Brenda Fawcett, Potomac Bible Church

They came from all parts of the United States—Texas, Michigan, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Idaho, California, North Carolina, even Frenchtown, Montana (Wally & Ruth Tucker). They drive big motor homes, fifth wheels or pull campers of all brands and models. But all have come with servant’s hearts to help wherever needed. Some will wander back our way to help again, and some are on a new road seeing new places and serving other people.

Evidence of work the SOWERs have done at Camp Utmost can be seen anywhere you look. The ladies painted many places, sometimes taped and "mudded" rooms, cleaned, washed windows, made potholders, curtains. The men have worked on construction in almost every phase of camp.

It’s fun to watch them come, strangers at first, but in no time at all they’re friends! They tell us of places they’ve been and new ideas to try. They come from various church backgrounds, but all have the same Lord.

We thank God for bringing the SOWERs to us. May we be challenged to serve like them—minus the wheels, but always ready!
