RMBM News Briefsby Terri Nussbaum, YaakThe Lord surely works in mysterious ways! It has been interesting for our church family to go from wondering who would fill our pulpit from Sunday to Sunday to more recently having two godly, concerned men filling the pulpit. Many churches face a period when they have no regular pastor to shepherd them, and this past year and a half has been our turn. God has been faithful in sending us many excellent men to minister to us every week, and we are truly grateful. We have been blessed to experience Gods Word and music through each of their individual perspectives. Some traveled long and "early" miles to preach to only a handful of folks one Sunday or, as is so often the case in summer, a crowd the next. Our thanks go out to all these wonderful guys (and their wives!!), many from Three Lakes Church, from International Messengers, and especially Jim Parks at the Rocky Mountain Bible Mission who so graciously arranged all these interim speakers. God sent Miles Friend about a year ago "to help out," as Miles puts it. That is a major understatement since hes been so much more to us than that. Weve appreciated and benefited from his teachings. Many know Miles through his teaching in area Christian schools. More recently, Duane Laflin and his wife Mary have stepped out from their international evangelistic illusionist ministry to speak here. We enjoy their warmth and unique presentation of Gods Word. Duane also "loaned" us the ministry of his parents, Harley and Marilyn Laflin, whom weve appreciated immensely. Pulpit supply is helping us through what could have been a long, dry time. Back to Top An installation service was celebrated for pastor Dave and Millie Knight on October 14th at heritage Bible Church in Butte. The service was opened by Bob Griffin with a welcome and hymn. Jim Parks, representing the Rocky Mountain Bible Mission, gave a message and a charge concerning pastoral and congregational responsibilities. Pastor Dave and Millie were prayed for by the pastors in attendance, closed by pastor Bill Wohlers of Deer Lodge. Linda Greenlief and Bob Griffin provided the special music. Pastor Dave accepted and responded to the charge, and the service was closed with music and prayer followed by a time of fellowship. Back to Top The Rocky Mountain Bible Mission offers a three-year training course to equip Christian pastors and lay workers. This fall began a new cycle with "Bible Study Methods/Interpretation" followed by the current "Old Testament Survey." This ten-course program is uniquely fitted for rural areas, especially for Christians in isolated areas where it is both expensive and geographically frustrating to obtain quality education. Are you interested? No problem. Students can begin at any point in the three-year program; each course is self contained. Catch the courses you missed during the following cycle.
