Just the right toolby Rodney and Debbie Higgins, Simms Just the right tool can make all the difference in getting a job done effectively and efficiently. Anyone who has ever used a pocket knife or butter knife for a screwdriver and those who have used a frying pan for a hammer can tell you all about the difference! The United States military is equipped with a large number of specialty pieces of machinery. This equipment often requires the use of unique tools in its regular repair and maintenance. A spanner wrench, a spring compressor, and a Track-Jack are all custom tools you may find on military equipment. These tools can make all the difference between success and failure. These custom tools may be found in the deserts of Iraq, on a ship in the Pacific, or in the snow and ice of Alaska. Many of these tools were built right here in Simms, Montana! Western Tool and Machine is a machine shop owned and operated by Rodney and Debbie Higgins who also pastor the Simms Community Church. In their shop, they manufacture tools made of steel, brass, aluminum, plaster, and even wood. Each tool is designed with a particular fit, form, and function to get the job done right and fast. Rod has built tools for over ten years. He has found this work to be challenging and satisfying. The business is a great blessing, allowing us the freedom to minister where the Lord has called us. All of God's faithful servants are but tools in His Hand. Custom tools, lovingly crafted by the Master Craftsman to accomplish His purpose in His time. The Lord has many unique “tools” within the Rocky Mountain Bible Mission; each one differs from one another, but is perfectly constructed for the job He has for them. What a great privilege to be a tool in Jesus' hand! First Corinthians 3:5 asks, “What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants [tools] through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.” To God be the Glory! |
