Rural Track Offered at ConferenceA “rural track” will be offered at the Christian Life Impact Conference (formerly Christian Workers Conference). The conference is in Spokane March 11-13. The seminars will be led by two RMBM pastors, Jim Carlson and Ed Pomelear. Carlson will lead sessions entitled “City Meets Country: the ‘Rurban' Church”—understanding the blend of mindsets—and “Power Brokers: Keys to the Community.” The latter topic gives insights on how the church can reach the hurting lost through local ‘power brokers.' Additionally, Carlson will hold a two-part session on “Help for the Pastor Search Committee.” Pomelear leads a session entitled “The Care and Feeding of Transients” on establishing and running a ministry to the rural community as well as the transient with urgent needs. In addition, he presents “Working with that New Guy”—hints for the congregation learning to live with the new pastor's “strange” ideas. |
