Romans 15:4 states, “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope”. In an era when Biblical literacy continues to falter, especially with the Old Testament, it’s time to ignite a renewed passion for the rich content and purpose of the Old Testament. These profound Holy Spirit inspired Ancient Words are full of the Gospel and hope. 


Our key note speaker spoke on, “Using the Old Testament in our Lives Today”. Sessions included, Why the OT is important today and lessons on the use of OT narratives, the Psalms and Wisdom Literature.   Listen to

Dr. Steve Mathewson


Dr. Mathewson has served in pastoral ministry for the past 35 years, including two decades in Montana. He currently serves as senior pastor of CrossLife Evangelical Free Church in Libertyville, Illinois, and he is the Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He is the author of five books, including The Art of Preaching Old Testament Narrative (which is now in its second edition) and RISEN: 50 Reasons Why the Resurrection Changed Everything. He and his wife, Priscilla, have four children (all married) and ten grandchildren. He loves fly fishing and makes at least one--and sometimes two--annual trips to Montana to fish his favorite rivers.
